Jessica Alba Biography

Surely you remember her from movies like "Sin City" or "The fantastic four". Besides being huge hits at the box office, these movies have another thing in common: Jessica Alba.

On April 28, 1981, Mark Alba, of Mexican ethnicity, and Cathy Jensen, who had a French and Danish background, had little Jessica. As a small child she suffered from a great number of illnesses such as collapsed lungs, burst appendix, she had a cyst in her tonsils asthma, she had pneumonia for about 4 or 5 times per year and an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Jessica and her brother, Joshua lived with their grandparents until she reached the age of 17. Her childhood had a strong military flavour as both her grandfather, who fought in the Pacific during the WWII, and her father who worked in the Air force, were the two most important men in her life.

Because of her fragile health and the fact that she had to spend a lot of her time in hospitals she was quite a lonely child. She spent so much time hospitalized that she didn't had time to tie any friendships. However, her health got a boost when she moved to California with her family.

At age five, Jessica presented an inclination towards acting. After taking her first acting lessons when she was twelve, she was signed by an agent after nine months.

Her first role was that of Gail in 1994's Camp Nowhere. She was a lucky beggar when, unexpectedly, one of the lead role actresses gave up the job, and, instead of only being hired for one week, she got the job for two months.

Jessica began by doing advertisements for Nintendo and J.C. Penney. Then she moved up to TV by doing three episodes of The Secret World of Alex Mack for Nickelodeon. After that she appeared as Maya in the first couple of seasons of Flipper. The facts that her mother was a lifeguard and she was a certified scuba diver were the aces up her sleeve during the filming of the series in Australia.

Brooklyn South (for one season) and Beverly Hills 90210 were the two next series in which she appeared in 1998. Then 1999 came along and she acted in P.U.N.K.S. After her graduation she studied along with William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman at the Atlantic Theater Company.

She performed with Drew Barrymore, as a very vain high-school girl in 1999's Never Been Kissed. In the same year Devon Sawa had a part for her in Idle Hands too. Dark Angel, James Cameron's series represented for Jessica her chance of making a name for herself in the Hollywood world. After the cancellation of the show in 2002 and two seasons of performing in it, Jessica started to act exclusively for full length films. In 2003 in Honey, she played the role of a dancer searching for her big break. After that Marvel Comics movies, Sin City (Nancy Callahan) and The Fantastic Four (the Invisible woman), she presented the 2006 MTV Movie Awards and did comedy clips for King Kong, Mission Impossible 3 and The Da Vinci Code.

Jessica was placed in the top 25 Sexiest Celebrities by Playboy and the same magazine gave her the award for Sex Star of the year in 2006 when she also appeared on its cover. She later sued the magazine for displaying a picture of her in what they called a nude pictorial. She retracted the complaint after Playboy mogul, Hugh Hefner, gave her an official apology and paid his dues by making donations for two of Jessica's charities.

Her Rankings as one of the hottest celebrities don't stop with Playboy though, as Maxim Magazine ranked her as the second hottest woman on earth in their 2006 issue. Jessica complains about the fact that her given roles give her only the image of the pretty sexy little girl and she claims that from now on she would be more selective with the parts she is offered so that she would be taken more seriously.

Looking back it seems that Jessica prefers seeing guys she worked with as she was engaged to Michael Weatherly, her Partner from Dark Angel and at the beginning of 2005 she started seeing Cash Warren, the assistant director from The Fantastic Four. Regarding children Jessica said that since she is used to them as she had 14 younger cousins, she wouldn't mind having a couple of her own.

In 2005 she started her own childrens' clothing line, as her brother's child was soon to be born and mostly all of her friends have kids, she decided to lend them a hand. Jessica claimed that her idea of a perfect partner would be an older man as they are more experienced. She mentioned Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, Robert Redford and Michael Caine as potential ideal lovers.

And, of course, you can't talk about a celebrity without mentioning his or her tattoos. Regarding those Jessica has a daisy and a ladybird on her neck, her wrist holds the "padma", the Sanskrit symbol for the Lotus Flower and a bow on her lower back.

Joshua, Jessica’s brother joined her in Dark Angel when he played in the last episode of the first season.
